Sauna & Cold Plunge Terms & Conditions

Effective from 10th December 2025. Applies to all sauna and cold-plunge bookings.

Disclaimer & Health Notice

Use of the sauna and cold plunge is entirely at your own risk. By booking, you confirm that all participants:

  • Have read and accepted these terms.

  • Are in good health and responsible for their own wellbeing.

  • Have consulted a GP if unsure about safe use.

Seek medical advice if any of the following apply (not exhaustive): pregnancy, heart or circulatory issues, high/low blood pressure, history of heart attack or stroke, asthma, respiratory issues, epilepsy, diabetes, arterial disease, joint/muscle injury, or use of medication/recreational drugs.

Leave the sauna or plunge immediately if you feel faint, dizzy, or unwell. Glebe House Devon Ltd. accepts no liability for injury, illness, or loss except where caused by proven negligence.

Cold Plunge Safety

  • Enter slowly; never dive or submerge your head

  • Ensure another person is present

  • Exit immediately if breathless or uncomfortable

  • Under-16s are not permitted to use the cold plunge

  • Use is voluntary and at your own risk

Sauna Age & Supervision

  • Under-16s may use the sauna only with prior agreement

  • Must be supervised at all times (1 adult per 2 children)

Behaviour & Safety Requirements

  • No alcohol, drugs, smoking or vaping

  • Remove all metal items (jewellery, watches, glasses)

  • Sit on a clean towel; shoes off

  • Bring two towels and drinking water

  • Use only the provided ladle on the stones

  • Do not touch the stove, stones, flue, or firebox

  • Move with care - surfaces may be hot or slippery

  • Keep noise low and respect other guests

  • No photography without consent

  • Essential oils only if provided or approved

Property & Valuables

Glebe House accepts no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged items.

Accessibility

Access involves steps and uneven ground, which may not suit all guests. Please contact us in advance to discuss requirements.

Weather & Closures

Sessions continue in most weather.

A refund or reschedule will be offered only if Glebe House closes due to unsafe conditions (e.g. storms, ice, extreme winds).

Cancellations & Amendments

  • 48+ hours notice: full refund or reschedule

  • 24–48 hours notice: 50% refund or reschedule if possible

  • Less than 24 hours / no-shows: non-refundable

  • Private sauna bookings: 72 hours’ notice required

  • Arriving 15+ minutes late may result in loss of session without refund

  • If Glebe House cancels for operational or safety reasons, you will receive a full refund or reschedule

Liability Waiver

By booking, you:

  • Accept all risks associated with sauna and cold-plunge use

  • Waive any claims against Glebe House Devon Ltd, its owners and staff, except where required by law

Agreement

By completing your booking, you confirm that you:

  • Have read and understood these Terms and Conditions

  • Are medically fit to use the sauna and/or cold plunge

  • Accept all associated risks
